Six Sentence Sunday

Well it is Sunday here already, so hopefully I'll be forgiven for starting early!

This week for my Six Sentence Sunday contribution, I thought I'd offer something from my latest contemporary romance, Shopping for Love.  This rather desperate little speech is uttered by my lovely hero, Greg - who has just about reached the end of his tether, poor darling.  Can you blame him?

"Whoa there!  Who said anything at all about happy families?  I’ve not had a single happy moment this week, thanks for asking.  My grandfather keeps drifting in and out of a coma; I’ve dragged my father from the other side of the world only to watch him cry like a baby and know there’s nothing I can do to help him; I’ve had to turn a blind eye to blatant fraud at work; your ex-boyfriend keeps badgering me to criminalise myself and as for Josie – don’t even get me started on that poisonous bitch.  And the sweetest, most wonderful creature ever to enter my life – the one shining light that could have made everything else tolerable for me – has locked me out in the cold.  Refused to talk to me, to explain what I’m supposed to have done that’s so heinous."

Great six, Lyn - and a heartrending speech by Greg, Everything really had hit rock bottom for him at this point of your wonderful story about him and Emma.

Ouch. Some of that strikes way too close to home. Well done!

My heart goes out to Greg. But, I'm curious if Josie is really the poisonous bitch he claims? LOL.

That last part gets me. . . "You know what you did!" is among the worst things one person can say to another. But saying nothing? The worst.

Thank you Paula - and thanks so much also for your lovely review, which I've only just seen today. I didn't even know you had read it!
I'm so delighted.

Oh dear, Robert - sorry to hear that. Greg is possibly my favourite hero so far - and don't worry, somehow or other he seems to cope.

Oh mine too (I fell a little bit in love with Greg, I confess) and yes, Josie is all that and more...

Thanks Maryellen - I hope I wasn't TOO hard on him - he's such a nice guy!

Now THAT is an awesome six! I feel horrible for him but I'm also riveted on the emotion of the story. Bravo!

Great Six! Poor Greg, it's enough to drive anyone crazy and wonder if the angels have turned their backs on him. Shopping For Love sounds like a wonderful story. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog, and commenting on my Six. :)
